In 2016, Papel Machete created the Cantastoria (picture storytelling performance) called "P.R.O.M.E.S.A." named after the PROMESA Act in which the federal government appointed the unelected Fiscal Control Board or "La Junta" in response to the debt crisis in Puerto Rico. Through this Cantastoria, Papel Machete denounces the imposition of the Fiscal Control Board and calls for resistance and action against the Board and against payment of the debt.
The booklet includes the script from the Cantastoria and the illustrations used during the performance.
